Communities That Care – Roy
Communities That Care is a framework that strengthens all schools in Roy with a coalition of volunteers to teach, advise and give tools to prevent suicide, substance abuse, and increase family bonding and positive relationships. It has been in Roy since 2017 but just moved to be with OWCAP this year. It is housed at our Roy Center, 5387 S 1900 W, Roy, UT 84067.
The coalition includes youth, parents, the mayor and other city officials, law enforcement, schools, businesses, media, youth-serving organizations, and religious affiliations.
Because of the large base of partners, evidence-based programs can be implemented.
Communities That Care is a prevention-based coalition that works to prevent substance abuse and depressive symptoms through education and prevention efforts.
