OWCAP HEAD START FACTS

  • Head Start has been in Ogden since 1964 and has served over 14,000 children of Weber County.

  • OWCAP Head Start is currently funded to serve 703 three- through four- year-old children (although we actually serve 945) with expansion in our long term plans.

  • OWCAP Head Start operates from September to May (child-care centers operate year round).

  • OWCAP Head Start employs over 150 permanent full time staff with full benefits and excellent Early Childhood wages. Head Start Parents are given a priority in the hiring process.

  • OWCAP Head Start provides two-thirds of each child’s daily USDA food guidelines with hot, nutritious meals that reflect the diversity of our children.

  • OWCAP Head Start provides safe, qualified transportation to and from most school sites at no cost to families.
